When purchasing Fuego's $600 "Prefessional F24C" cylindrical gas grill model, I was expecting this unit to WORK once I finished assembling the unit. Assembly was easy and it does have "well written" setup instructions included with this unit. This is the 2nd purchase for me of this very exact grill, since we've enjoyed the use of the last, prior one. However, this unit "WOULDN'T IGNITE" after assembly whatsoever. The only way it would light was with the use of my handy Torch BLUE-flame hand-held butane-fueled igniter unfortunately. I looked and analyzed this problem or issue for a good hour or two, before I decided to call Fuego Support for help. Fuego Support said they would ship out to me a replacement "igniter wire and battery box" to my home next to see if this would fix the issue here. While I was awaiting those parts to arrive, I completely disassembled the upper half, inside the grill, where the dual-ring burner lies after removing the diffuser panel and the cast-iron cooking grate out first. Once those items were removed, particularly the dual-ring burner, I had a clear view of all the electrical connections between the igniter "battery-box" and the igniter wire w/electrode to see if there was anything obvious that looked to be the problem in getting my grill to "ignite" once I had already opened the valve on my external propane gas tank and then manually turned the control knob to the START location making it ready to light-up my grill. I even removed the electrical wires from the battery-box and then "re-seated" them, to be certain that a connection was being made there at the terminals. I even replaced the AA-battery in the "battery-box" in case that battery was weak or shot, just to cover all the bases associated with the "electrical side of things" with this grill. After these checks, I then re-assembled or put everything back, making it ready for the test. Well, the test "FAILED" like originally. Then, I knew something was drastically wrong here but still couldn't figure out what the underlying issue still is. Well, I dissembled the same pieces, once again, and then focused my attention on the external gas port openings of the control valve which there are two of them and both go inside the dual-ring burner, as well. I brought out a paper-clip, and began reaming out the two external gas port holes there. The one port hole was easy....a clear thru path for gas to get out and into the dual-ring burner, unobstructed. However, the other and remaining external gas port opening was NOT the case. I couldn't even get the paper clip to go in barely. I then tried using a pair of my electrical pliers to hold the paper clip and get more leverage when trying to insert it into the gas port opening, and STILL no luck. Then, I knew this was a PROBLEM. I then went into my tool room to locate the smallest drill bit I had in my inventory and STILL wasn't small enough to go into these tiny little port openings. Turns out, I had to go to the local HARBOR FREIGHT retailer and pickup a "cheap" budget-friendly drill bit set called "WARRIOR TITANIUM NUMBERED DRILL BIT SET, 60-PC." at a cost of $19.99. This set did include a #60 (wire gauge diameter thickness) bit, which was the perfect fit for these gas port openings. Once I installed this tiny #60 Titanium drill bit into my portable Milwaukee M18 battery-powered Drill Driver, SUCCESS was achieved in "clearing out" that one gas port opening now, with NO OBSTRUCTION to any gas flow go thru it now, like originally. Then, I re-assembled the grill back to the testing phase, once again. This time, "WAMO....it LIT UP as I was hoping for, quickly and instantly!!!" I tried it numerous times, and I was successful in getting this unit to work, like it should have, from the very get-go. So, I went thru some "REAL HASTLE, NO DOUBT" in finally getting my FUEGO PROFESSIONAL F24C to work, but it is now working flawlessly, and I sure hope it stays that way for quite some time....that is, until the electrical wire w/electrode starts to fail which is the common issue I had to deal with replacing twice with my previous one. I would like to see Fuego come out with a much better "heat resistant or fire-retardant" coating on the actual electrical wire that makes up this "igniter wire w/electrode" part of this grill next, if possible. That would be a "BIG PLUS" if this issue is "pursued and implemented" on this existing grill model by Fuego. In summary, "HARBOR FREIGHT" was "THE WINNER" for me during this unbelievable ordeal coming from a $600 product purchase !!!
