For the Chicken:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

For the Pesto:

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves, packed
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts or walnuts
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Assembling:

  • Slider buns or mini rolls
  • Fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • Tomato slices
  • Fresh basil leaves


Step 1: Prepare the Pesto

  • In a food processor, combine the basil, grated Parmesan cheese, pine nuts or walnuts, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Pulse the mixture while slowly drizzling in the olive oil until a smooth pesto sauce forms. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Step 2: Cook the Chicken

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil.
  • Cook the chicken breasts for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and no longer pink in the center.
  • Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing into smaller pieces.

Step 3: Assemble the Sliders

  • Slice the slider buns or mini rolls in half horizontally.
  • Spread a generous amount of pesto on the bottom half of each bun.
  • Place a slice of mozzarella cheese on top of the pesto.
  • Add a few slices of cooked chicken on top of the cheese.
  • Top with tomato slices and fresh basil leaves.
  • Place the top half of the bun on the ingredients to complete the slider.

  • Arrange the Pesto Mozzarella Chicken Sliders on a serving platter.
  • You can secure each slider with a toothpick if desired.
